Athletes' Angels support international expeditions as well as individuals on adventures or world challenges.  Below are a couple of examples showing opportunities to the both our athletes' and staff...

Mark Beaumont

At around 14.35 GMT, 15th February 2008 in Paris, Mark Beaumont entered the history books as he broke the Guinness World Record for circum-navigating the globe on a bicycle.   After over 18,000 miles, 16 countries and 195 days (smashing the previous record of 276 days), Mark rolled into Paris and took the third exit at the Arc De Triomphe roundabout to rapturous applause from the huge crowd that had gathered to celebrate this aweome achievement.

Athletes' Angels have been involved since the start, organising his medical, physio and sports massage support during his race around the world.  His sports massage before he left was carried out by Athletes’ Angels.  Mark then left from Paris and was treated by physiotherapist Piotr Czyz, International Athletes’ Angels , through Germany to Poland and the Ukraine. We then supported Mark with local therapists in Turkey, Iran, Pakistan, Malaysia, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, America and back into Europe.  To see a typical day in the Athletes’ Angels organisation of Mark’s medical and therapy support or to follow the BBC documentary of this expedition go to www.artemisworldcycle.com Our Physiotherapist then re-met him in Portugal and supported him through to the end of his journey in Paris.  To see Athletes' Angels reporting for BBC in Paris on Mark's finishing line see: http://www.bcgwebdesign.com/mark/markinparis.wmv
